American Pool Table Questions

What is the difference between American and English pool tables?
American pool uses a larger table, bigger 2¼-inch balls and faster, napless cloth, giving a quicker, more open game. English pool is played on a smaller table with 2-inch balls and napped cloth for a slower, more tactical game. Riley builds both on genuine slate beds.
What size American pool table do I need for my room?
Allow at least 1.5m of clear space around the table for a full cue swing. American tables run larger than English pool, so an 8ft or 9ft table needs a dedicated games room. Send us your room dimensions and we'll confirm the largest size that fits.
Can Riley England deliver and install an American pool table?
